"Saint Nicholas - Armed Forces of Ukraine" - this is the name given to the new initiative of the Command of the United Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Protect The Future Charitable Foundation, which is being implemented within the framework of civil-military cooperation. Almost 6,000 gifts with sweets will be given to the traditional "favorites" of St. Nicholas - children and wounded soldiers.
St. Nicholas in a pixel, together with military personnel, will visit children undergoing inpatient treatment in hospitals and children's homes of the Northern Operational Zone. Of course, he will also visit our soldiers who are being treated in military hospitals. Children of fallen Heroes will also receive gifts.
- It is very symbolic that the Day of St. Nicholas coincided with the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. St. Nicholas works miracles with a kind heart, and the Ukrainian soldier also works miracles every day on the battlefield, protecting our future, said the commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Serhiy Naev. - In this difficult time, our hearts must preserve sparks of kindness, the military together with benefactors are always ready to give a part of their soul to every child.
The initiative started in the Garrison Church of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in honor of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker, which is located on the territory of the National Museum of Folk Architecture and Life of Ukraine.
